SAN CLEMENTE : City OKs Alignment of Foothill Tollway
- Share via
After a long series of public hearings and study sessions, the City Council has endorsed a proposed alignment for the Foothill Transportation Corridor.
As proposed by the council, the modified alignment would pass through the eastern portion of the city, just east of two-lane Cristianitos Road, which passes through private property on Rancho Mission Viejo and links with Camp Pendleton. The council is also requesting that the alignment be 25 feet below the existing Cristianitos Road, according to the letter signed by Mayor Scott Diehl.
The 30-mile Foothill Transportation Corridor is planned to link the Riverside Freeway to Basilone Road in Camp Pendleton, traversing the foothills east of Interstate 5.
