In response to “Challenge to Israel Comes Too Late,” by Yehoshafat Harkabi, Commentary, July 31:
The professor twice refers to Israel’s “flouting international norms” and “disobeying international norms.”
Surely a professor of international relations knows that since the beginning of history, the international norm has been “to the victor belong the spoils” and every single national border on the globe has been defined by conquest.
Would he have us give back the United States to the Indians? To the British? The Spaniards? The French?
