The Kansas City Royals have activated left-hander Mark Davis, sidelined since June 18 because of a torn fingernail, and placed shortstop Kurt Stillwell on the 15-day disabled list because of a bruised left heel. Right-hander Wes Gardner was assigned to triple-A Omaha and infielder Sean Berry was recalled.
The Seattle Mariners placed left-hander Russ Swan on the 15-day disabled list because of lower back spasms and recalled left-hander Keith Comstock from triple-A Calgary.
