San Marino : Liquor Ban to Be Reviewed

A 1953 prohibition on alcoholic beverage sales at restaurants will be re-examined by a task force appointed Wednesday by the City Council.
Restaurant owners asked for the study, saying that occupancy and prosperity of their establishments would increase if beer and wine sales were permitted.
Mayor Suzanne Crowell said the nine-member task force of San Marino residents will identify pros and cons and will gather public opinion, possibly at a town hall forum. The task force will meet beginning in September and issue its report in November.
