A gunman opened fire on a group of people standing on a street corner in South Los Angeles, killing one man and wounding two others, authorities said Monday.
The man killed, a 22-year-old, died at Martin Luther King Jr./Drew Medical Center. The other victims were treated and released.
Sheriff’s Sgt. Noel Lanier said the victims were drinking beer in the 1700 block of East 85th Street in the unincorporated Firestone district when they were shot shortly before 7:30 p.m. Sunday. The suspect opened fire at the group from across the street, he said. None of the victims were identified, and no arrests were made.
