2 Held in Spate of Violent Robberies

Two Santa Monica men were arrested Wednesday in connection with the violent robberies of 25 elderly pedestrians in West Los Angeles during the past three months, police said.
Carlos Nelasco, 21, and Patrick Grosse, 22, were arrested by Beverly Hills police as suspects in a Wilshire Boulevard purse snatching and a strong-arm robbery.
“They are wanted in connection with 25 robberies that have taken place since June in the Wilshire Boulevard, Santa Monica Boulevard corridors as far east as Brentwood and far west as Pacific Palisades,” said Beverly Hills Police Lt. Jim Smith.
