SOUTH MIAMI, Fla. — A lightning bolt struck a field during a high school football practice Wednesday, killing a coach and injuring three others.
Robert Johnson, 60, an assistant coach for South Miami High School, died about four hours after the lightning bolt hit. A 15-year-old football player was listed in serious condition at a hospital.
The two other men, both coaches, apparently didn’t suffer a direct hit. They were “just slightly dazed” and were admitted for observation, the hospital said.
