A man who allegedly shot his 4-year-old son to death in a drug-induced state was charged Tuesday with murder. Harold Dean Estrada, 32, of Glendale was arrested Aug. 23 after police discovered the man’s dying son inside Estrada’s apartment in the 1500 block of East Harvard Street. He was being held without bail, said district attorney spokeswoman Sandi Gibbons.
The boy, Timothy Flores, was found by police responding to an emergency call placed at 8 a.m. by Estrada’s wife, Sandra. Timothy had been shot in the chest and was dead on arrival at Glendale Adventist Medical Center.
Sandra Estrada, the child’s stepmother, told police that her husband shot his son after an argument between the couple. Police also said that Estrada was believed to be under the influence of drugs at the time.
