Survey Planned on Animal Control

DANA POINT — A questionnaire on needs for animal control as seen by Dana Point residents was approved by the City Council this week.
The questionnaire, which was developed by the animal control services advisory committee, asks residents what types of pets they own, what type of animal shelter they would like and what pet owners think of the job being done by the county.
The city shares county animal control vehicles with the cities of Mission Viejo, Laguna Niguel and San Juan Capistrano. The county charges the city about $50,000 annually for the service.
Pet owners are also being asked if they could help with fund raising, public relations or volunteer work.
The survey is being circulated through homeowners association newsletters, at veterinary clinics and at other locations in the city.
The results of the survey are scheduled to be presented to the council by November.
