A 26-year-old man stabbed a security guard early Monday at the Pierside Pavilion retail center and also suffered stab wounds during the incident, police said.
Shon A. Nall was arrested by officers who followed a trail of blood from the retail center at Main Street and Pacific Coast Highway to Nall’s home nearby on 3rd Street. Police sent in a dog after Nall pushed furniture in front of the door and ran into the back part of the house, Police Officer J.B. Hume said.
Nall was charged with attempted murder and was in custody Monday at the Huntington Beach City Jail. He was treated for minor knife wounds and dog bites sustained during the arrest, Hume said.
The security guard, Daniel Carrasco, 40, was in fair condition at UCI Medical Center in Orange with stab wounds to his back, head and shoulders.
