Los Angeles 21, Chatsworth 7--Charles Smith returned the opening kickoff 87 yards for a touchdown and Todd Davenport threw a pair of touchdown passes to lift Los Angeles to the win at Chatsworth.

Chatsworth quarterback Brian Comer completed eight of 20 passes for 82 yards, including a nine-yard scoring pass to Lamon Odom to give the Chancellors a 7-6 lead in the first quarter.

But Los Angeles scored in the second quarter on an 11-yard scoring pass from Davenport to Rubin Reese and put the game away in the fourth quarter when Davenport hit Derrick Royal with a 32-yard touchdown pass.
