The Dallas Cowboys traded linebacker Jesse Solomon to the New England Patriots for an undisclosed draft choice next season.
Solomon, who came to the Cowboys in 1989 from the Minnesota Vikings as part of the Herschel Walker trade, walked out of the Cowboys’ training camp Aug. 21 after hearing he had been demoted to the second team. He later was suspended.
Derek Kennard, right guard for the New Orleans Saints, suffered a torn pectoral muscle while lifting weights and might miss playing time.
Darrell Thompson, fullback for the Green Bay Packers, is expected to be sidelined for at least four weeks after suffering an injured left knee Sunday.
Norman Braman, owner of the Philadelphia Eagles, will undergo spinal surgery todayto relieve pressure on his neck.
