Dodger Fans Enter a New Brave World
Although I am, and have always been, an L.A. Dodger fan, I have to admit that I wouldn’t be too terribly upset to see the Braves win the NL West. If any team in baseball deserves to go all the way, it’s Atlanta.
Player for player, the only differences between the Dodgers and Braves are (1) experience, and (2) an average salary of about $650,000 per player. However, this won’t be the case forever. Names such as Gant, Glavine, Justice, Smoltz and others won’t be earning six-digit salaries for long. But for now, it sure is nice to watch a professional team playing solely on determination and desire.
