Man Is Shot to Death; Gang Members Suspected

A man was fatally shot in front of his pregnant wife after he stopped to order some food at a catering truck near Koreatown, police said Friday.
Jorge Ordonez, 26, got out of his car at Menlo Avenue and Olympic Boulevard about 11 p.m. Thursday and walked toward the truck while his wife waited in the vehicle, Sgt. Frank Moore said. Ordonez was accosted by two reputed gang members, each described as about 20 years old, who demanded his money. When Ordonez refused, one of the assailants shot him in the chest, Moore said.
Moore said Ordonez’s wife is seven months pregnant.
