Suspected Con Artist Arrested

ANAHEIM — Police have arrested a 30-year-old man suspected of being a con artist who was able to dodge authorities for three months while allegedly using his victims’ identities to obtain a new car, motor home and a pair of jet skis.
Douglas Alan Green, who was also wanted on felony theft warrants totaling $145,000 out of Riverside County and Washington state, was arrested Thursday by Anaheim police outside a Fullerton residence.
Anaheim authorities said they began their investigation of Green in July when he reportedly used the name and Social Security number of another person on a credit application and purchase order to obtain a $23,000 new Pontiac Firebird.
Auto theft detectives later were able to link to the man a theft of jet skis from a Garden Grove business and a $50,000 motor home from Riverside County, and in September issued a warrant for his arrest.
Authorities said Green’s criminal activities involved the use police radio scanners, pagers and cellular phones.
