Brooks Fills ‘Nest’: Country music king Garth Brooks has a TV job--playing himself on an episode of NBC’s “Empty Nest.” Brooks, who recently cleaned up at the Country Music Assn. awards, will be the object of the affections of nurse Laverne. He also will perform “The River,” a song off his new album, when the show is taped Oct. 15.
