West Covina : Farmers Market Approved
A farmers market may open in March, the City Council decided.
The council voted unanimously to permit a market to operate in commercial zones. The city will provide maintenance and police support when needed.
The West Covina Chamber of Commerce will sponsor the market and has allocated $7,500 for start-up costs and promotions, said Susan Harvey, the chamber’s executive vice president. The chamber will be responsible for obtaining city and county permits.
The location, times and days of operation will be decided within the next two weeks, Harvey said.
