San Marino : Approved Roofing List OKd

A list of approved roofing materials for San Marino homes was adopted by the City Council after a public hearing Wednesday.

Materials deemed acceptable include wood shake or shingle, clay tiles of the red barrel type for Spanish- or Mediterranean-style homes, gray slate and Cal Shake and Cemwood brands.

The list will streamline procedures for the approximately 200 residents per year who get new roofs. Previously, residents were required to appear before the San Marino Design Review Committee for approval of any change in the roofing materials on their houses.
