In another WSC game:
Glendale 34, Ventura 26--Rafik Thorossian rushed for 204 yards and three touchdowns to lead Glendale (1-5, 1-4) to its first victory in a Northern Division game at Glendale High.
Thorossian, who scored on a 77-yard run with 47 seconds left in the first half, scored on a 63-yard run that gave Glendale a 34-18 lead with 9:57 left.
Ventura (1-5, 1-4) marched 48 yards and, with 1:17 left, Matt Brimigion capped the drive with a four-yard touchdown pass to Erik Eads, cutting the deficit to 34-26.
Glendale benefited from several Ventura mistakes. In all, the Pirates committed three turnovers, missed on a 25-yard field-goal attempt and failed to convert their first three conversion kicks.
Bobby Webster gained 101 yards in 23 carries for Glendale, which finished with 331 total yards. Ventura was limited to 153 yards.
