S. Africa Mine Mishap

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa — Three miners were killed and 94 injured in an accident at a South African gold mine Tuesday, mine owner Anglovaal said.
A statement said eight of the injured were in serious condition after the accident, apparently involving a malfunction in the hoist bringing miners to the surface, at Hartebeestfontein mine in western Transvaal province.
