Cerritos : Theater’s Name Changed to Center for Performing Arts

The major arts center under construction at the city’s Towne Center development has been renamed the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts.
Officials said the name change from Cerritos Arts Center is necessary to avoid confusing the theater complex with an art museum. They said that applicants for the job of center manager listed job experience ranging from museum curator to graphic artist.
The $46-million facility is scheduled to open next November with a gala month of top-name performances.
