Schmitt to Head Anjou Water Unit

Anjou International Co. on Tuesday named George J. Schmitt as chief executive of Anjou’s Bottled Water Group, including Hinckley & Schmitt Inc. of Chicago and Sierra Spring Water Co. of Sacramento.

Schmitt, chief executive of Hinckley & Schmitt since 1965, guided his company to its current position as the third-largest bottled water company in the United States. Hinckley & Schmitt and Sierra Spring products are sold in 15 states and in Canada. Anjou International is a wholly owned subsidiary of Compagnie Generale des Eaux, one of France’s largest publicly traded companies.
