SIMI VALLEY : Council Reappoints Planning Chairman
- Share via
Choosing from a group of nine candidates jockeying for a seat on the Planning Commission, the Simi Valley City Council voted Monday to reappoint the panel’s chairman and to name one new member.
The council reappointed Chairman Bob Barrett and appointed Ronald Lenfield to the commission.
Mayor Greg Stratton nominated Lenfield, and Councilman Michael Piper nominated Barrett. Lenfield served on the commission from 1986 to 1990.
The two vacancies on the commission resulted when Piper, a former commissioner, was recently selected by the City Council to fill an opening created by the resignation of Councilman Glen McAdoo. McAdoo’s appointment was Barrett.
Each member of the council is responsible for the nomination of one planning commissioner. The terms of the commissioners are concurrent with the terms of the nominating council member.
