Tim Washington, a former Fresno State cornerback who was the most valuable defensive player of the 1981 Blue-Gray game, was found dead in his apartment Saturday in Fremont, Calif. He was 32.
Washington died from apparent pneumonia. The Alameda County coroner’s office said an autopsy has been performed but the cause of death awaited testing. Washington played for the San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs as well as Saskatchewan of the Canadian Football League.
