DMI Receives Private Financing: DMI Inc., a five-employee Irvine firm whose products use optical disk technology to back up data stored on mid-size computers, said Wednesday that it has received $4 million in private financing from a Canadian investment bank. Al Rose, chief executive, said the company will use the money for sales and marketing as well as possible acquisitions. DMI, founded in 1987, expects to report sales of about $400,000 for 1991. Enrotek Capital Inc., a private investment bank in Calgary, provided the financing.
