The Region : Hearing on Road Projects

Eight San Gabriel Valley roadway projects estimated to cost $276.2 million are among the proposals scheduled for discussion today by the California Transportation Commission.
The commission is considering whether to allocate state funds for transportation proposals from throughout Southern California. The Los Angeles County Transportation Commission has nominated 24 top priority projects.
Most of the proposed San Gabriel Valley work, $225.4 million worth, involves construction of an eight-lane freeway, Route 30, in Claremont and La Verne.
In addition, road improvements are proposed for the Corona Expressway in Pomona, $40.8 million; Valley Boulevard from the Long Beach Freeway in Alhambra to Santa Anita Avenue in El Monte, $7.5 million; Pathfinder Road over the Orange Freeway in Diamond Bar, $1.4 million, and Foothill Freeway at Fair Oaks Avenue in Pasadena, $1.1 million.
The hearing is from 1:30 to 5 p.m. at the Burbank Hilton hotel, 2500 Hollywood Way.
