Filing opened last week for the March 31 election to fill three council seats and the city clerk position.
The filing deadline for the council seats, in Districts 2, 4 and 5 is Jan. 23. As of Wednesday, no one had filed, City Clerk Joanne Yeo said.
Councilwoman Edna Wilson currently represents District 2, a portion of Leisure World, but is ineligible to run for reelection because she has served two consecutive terms.
Councilman Frank Laszlo represents District 4, or College Park East, and is eligible to run again. Councilman William J. Doane, who represents District 5, a portion of Leisure World, and City Clerk Yeo, who has been in office since 1980, are also eligible to run again.
The District 5 position is for two years because Doane was appointed last year to represent the district until the election after the resignation of Councilman Joe Hunt. The city clerk and other council seats are all four-year terms.
The filing fee for all candidates is $25, plus a $100 deposit for printing and other expenses of council candidate statements, limited to 200 words. The deposit for city clerk candidate statements is $250.
