California IN BRIEF : SAN FRANCISCO : Boy Wounded After Brother’s Funeral

A limousine returning from a funeral was sprayed with bullets as it passed through a housing project, wounding a youth who had just buried his brother, police said. The 14-year-old victim was hit in the shoulder and neck and the Cadillac was struck several times, police said. The wounds were described as “superficial” by hospital officials, who added that the youngster’s name would not be released because of his age. The funeral was held for the youth’s 19-year-old brother, who was shot to death in South San Francisco on New Year’s Day.
