MINORITY MAJORITY? The final enrollment numbers are coming in and “chances are strong” that minorities will top 50% in public schools countywide this year for the first time, says the Department of Education’s apportionment technician. Last year the numbers stood at 48%. This year’s highest minority total will be in the Santa Ana Unified School District, with early estimates at 93%.
