OXNARD : City to Reconsider Credit Card Ban
- Share via
Oxnard’s City Council today will reconsider a 2-year-old decision to eliminate credit cards issued on the city’s behalf for employee travel.
City administrators have asked the council to distribute Visa or MasterCard with a credit line of between $1,000 and $2,000 to city officials who travel frequently.
The city had an American Express account until 1989, when the council eliminated the credit card program to cut costs.
But administrators say the loss of the cards has severely complicated the reimbursement procedure for employee travel.
