NEW YORK — Jockey Angel Cordero, Jr. remains in stable condition in the intensive care unit at Long Island Jewish Hospital after undergoing surgery for the removal of his spleen.
“He’s doing much better,” Cordero’s agent, Frank Sanabria, said Wednesday. “He will be in ICU for a couple more days under observation.
“He’s having a little trouble breathing because of the ribs. They put a lot of pressure on the lungs and he’s in a lot of pain.”
Cordero was injured in a spill at Aqueduct last Sunday and underwent surgery Monday.
