The Fillmore City Council has approved two new members for the local parks and recreation commission.
Margaret Yeargan and Joe Escoto have worked with young people and say they are committed to improving recreation opportunities in the city.
Yeargan is a Fillmore native who has worked in local 4-H and Future Farmers programs. As the mother of three teen-agers, she said she could bring youths’ point of view to the commission.
Escoto has lived in Fillmore 37 years and worked with youth sports teams. He said he applied for a seat on the commission because of the importance of recreation for the community.
