Pay and Play: Theatergoers can pay any amount they choose for tickets to the Tuesday (Part 1) and Wednesday (Part 2) previews of “The Kentucky Cycle” at the Mark Taper Forum. Both parts of the historical epic must be purchased--on a cash-only basis, at the Taper box office, limited to two per person, and subject to availability. . . . John Randolph, not Tom Poston, will play the old man in Craig Lucas’ “Prelude to a Kiss” when it returns to the Southland at La Mirada Theatre Feb. 18-March 8. Randolph replaced Barnard Hughes in the Broadway production of the play, which premiered at South Coast Repertory in 1988. Poston withdrew because his tour of “The Odd Couple” has been extended.
