Golden West Women Claim League Title

Golden West College exploited a weakness in the Saddleback defense to get back in the game and then ran past the Gauchos, 73-59, Friday to win its third consecutive Orange Empire Conference women’s basketball title.

Saddleback (25-5, 8-2) entered as Southern California’s top-ranked team, and Golden West (26-4, 9-1 in conference) was ranked second.
