GARDEN GROVE : Police Will Conduct Sobriety Checkpoints

The Garden Grove Police Department will conduct sobriety checkpoints at two intersections in the city this weekend.
Police will be checking for motorists driving under the influence of alcohol at Cerulean Avenue and Valley View Street from 9 p.m. tonight to 3 a.m. Saturday, and a checkpoint will be set up at Chapman Avenue and Somerset Place from 9 p.m. Saturday to 3 a.m. Sunday.
The checkpoints are aimed at reducing injuries and deaths caused by drivers who have been drinking alcohol. They are conducted in accordance with state attorney general guidelines, according to Sgt. Jack Ray, who oversees local checkpoint operations.
