TV and Coverage of the Disturbances

Fox News on Channel 11 has rediscovered that localism and relevance can be competitively advantageous. Its daily coverage of the King beating trial served the community extraordinarily, and Fox was top-rate in how it covered the verdict aftermath. Anchorman Chris Harris logged some long hours during the trial and riots.
KABC Channel 7 showed why it is the top news station in the city. The riot coverage revealed that Channel 7 has the best reporters. Also, they showed great sensitivity in holding off some video in the early hours of the situation. And Paul Moyer and Ann Martin used Thursday night to get us thinking about the future. The long interview with Cardinal Roger M. Mahony was particularly effective.
