NO BORN RACISTS
Bob Baker’s “A Kid’s Eye View” (Guest Bites Town, April 5) eloquently and sensitively shows the staying power of racism and how profoundly it touches our children’s lives. Children are not born fearing and hating people with different skin colors any more than they choose ice cream on the basis of brand or color. They learn racism through their elders. I agree with Baker that it’s a shame that racism has to be an issue for children at all.
