Holden Says Relocating Center Is Hypocritical

The federal government is being hypocritical about the rebuilding of Los Angeles by planning to relocate a military enlistment center that was burned down during the riots, City Councilman Nate Holden said Sunday.
While federal officials are “asking industry to rebuild Los Angeles, they sneak out the back door and want to move the center elsewhere,” Holden said.
He called on President Bush to keep the 30,000-square-foot center on South La Brea Avenue near Rodeo Road, where it has served as the headquarters for screening and induction of all military recruits in nine California counties.
