Chrysler to Cut Jeep Cherokee Price: Chrysler Corp. moved aggressively to strengthen its position in the hot-selling sport-utility vehicle market, announcing price cuts on 1993 Jeep Cherokees that average 5.1%. The reductions will range from $647 to $2,209, making the base Cherokee price from $12,137 to $14,632. The sport-utility segment of the U.S. auto market has been strong at a time when overall sales have been sluggish. Cherokee sales for 1992 are running 25% above 1991 levels, Chrysler said.
