LOVE, ANAHEIM: The $103-million Anaheim sports arena is not scheduled to open until the summer of 1993. So why is project partner Ogden Entertainment submitting bids this week to bring the 1992 Davis Cup finals to the city? A little politicking. . . . Ogden spokesman John Nicoletti says their proposal to the United States Tennis Assn. calls for bringing the event to the Anaheim Convention Center. But the hope is that tennis officials will also take time for a peek at the arena site under construction--for future tournaments.
