* Union Bank said Tamotsu Yamaguchi was named chairman, effective Sept. 23. Yamaguchi will replace Jiro Ishizaka, who left the San Francisco-based bank to accept a position in Japan.
Most recently, Yamaguchi served as adviser to the president of Bank of Tokyo Ltd. The Bank of Toyko holds a 76.4% interest in Union Bank.
