* Prime Ticket Network President and Chief Executive John C. Severino has announced his retirement, once his contract obligation is completed next month, to explore personal interests and consulting opportunities.
Former ESPN President Roger Werner, now president of Prime Sports Ventures, will become the Century City-based network’s acting president and chief executive.
Severino, who was president of ABC Television and general manager of KABC-TV in Los Angeles, joined Prime Ticket in October, 1988.
According to a Prime Ticket spokesman, Severino’s employment agreement involved a series of two-year contracts, plus an equity interest. Severino, 55, renewed the second two-year pact in 1990, but has chosen not to renew the agreement for a third time. His equity interests are now fully vested.
Severino will maintain a consulting relationship with the network for two years.
