Latino Favorites: Singer Gloria Estefan took honors for both entertainer of the year and song of the year at the “Desi Entertainment Awards” Monday night at the Wiltern Theatre. Edward James Olmos, Celia Cruz and Andy Garcia won film favorite awards, while Jimmy Smits, Joanna Kerns and Elizabeth Pena were the television favorites. The awards recognize Latino contributions in the entertainment industry. Special achievement awards went to Olmos, Ricardo Montalban and Jose Jose.
