Cerritos : Council Measure Would Restrict Use of Leaf-Blowers
- Share via
The City Council is expected tonight to give final approval to an ordinance banning the use of power leaf-blowers in residential areas during evening and early morning hours.
The measure, which would take effect in 30 days, limits the use of leaf-blowers to 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sundays and legal holidays.
The ordinance does not apply to industrial zones or to commercial areas located more than 400 feet from residences. Citizen complaints about noise prompted the ordinance.
