Blue-Eyed Benefactor

L.A. singer Victoria Williams has received some interesting support since word got out that she’s been stricken with multiple sclerosis. Among the donations was a check for $1,000 from David Geffen, whose record label dropped Williams after one unsuccessful 1987 album. And shortly after a recent benefit concert, a envelope with a return address on Bob Hope Drive in Palm Springs arrived at the office of her manager, Danny Heaps. Inside was another $1,000 check and a note addressed to Williams:
“I read about your benefit . . . and my wife and I hope it went well.”
The note was signed, “Frank Sinatra.”
