California Amplifier Reports Profit Increase

California Amplifier Inc.’s profit more than doubled in the quarter ended June 30, thanks to strong sales fueled by new products and growth in foreign markets.
The Camarillo-based company, which makes satellite-dish components and other products used in microwave telecommunications, reported that its second-quarter profit jumped to $838,000 from $356,000 a year earlier.
Its sales rose 66%, to $8.39 million from $5.06 million.
California Amplifier’s six-month profit was $1.59 million, more than triple its $483,000 profit a year before.
Its sales totaled $16.7 million, a 95% gain from $8.54 million.
