Rivera Scores Twice in La Mirada’s 28-0 Victory Over La Habra

LA HABRA — Randy Rivera caught two first-half touchdown passes and had an interception as La Mirada beat La Habra, 28-0, in a nonleague game Friday night.
Rivera scored on a 43-yard pass play on the Matadors’ first possession and again on a 73-yard play with four seconds left in the first half to help La Mirada take a 21-0 halftime lead.
The senior, who finished the game with three catches for 127 yards, also put an end to a La Habra drive with an interception in the fourth quarter.
Junior Ryan Hura, who ran for 80 yards in 15 carries, scored for the Matadors on runs of six and three yards. La Mirada quarterback Mike Moschetti threw for 184 yards, completing nine of 12 passes on the evening.
La Habra, which was limited to just 114 yards of total offense, was led by Jacob Gomez, who had 50 yards in 12 carries.
The Matadors finished with 356 yards of total offense, 172 rushing.
