Nature Co. Files Infringement Suit: The Berkeley-based retailer is suing Natural Wonders Inc., charging it with infringing on trademarks, service marks, trade name and trade dress, creating consumer confusion. Both retailers target environmentally conscious baby boomers with an array of nature- and science-related items. The suit, filed in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, seeks unspecified damages and injunctive relief. In its suit, the Nature Co. claims that Natural Wonders has imitated everything from the green aprons the clerks wear to the product mix, lighting and layout. Natural Wonders, based in Union City, Calif., disputes the charges and says it may file counterclaims against the Nature Co. and its parent, CML Group.
