Viacom Entertainment Group Announces Layoffs: Viacom Entertainment Group will lay off 18% of its 228-member New York-based staff as part of a restructuring move. VEG, a subsidiary of Viacom International, encompasses the company’s TV syndication, production and merchandising and licensing units. The layoffs and restructuring come in the wake of a recent VEG management shake-up and scaling back of projects. VEG distributes reruns of “The Cosby Show” and “Roseanne.”
