Stacy Edwards has played a major role in the cross-country team’s 5-0 record for Gahr High School of Cerritos. She has not been beaten in five dual matches. She kept that record intact by posting a winning time of 19:37 as the Gladiators defeated Lynwood High in a San Gabriel Valley League contest. Edwards also has done well in invitational meets this year. In her three invitational races, she has finished second twice and third once. In the Dana Hills Invitational earlier this month she recorded a school record of 19:05 in a three-mile race.

Fili Cortez helped Downey High stay undefeated at 3-0 in cross-country. She set a Downey High record of 15:44 as the Vikings defeated both Cerritos High and Warren High in a San Gabriel Valley League contest.
Julie Christina has sparked Artesia High to a 4-0 Suburban League record in volleyball. She had 17 kills as the Pioneers defeated Bellflower, 15-9, 10-15, 15-13 and 15-10.
